Description
The Foundation for the Preservation of the American Family seeks an intern to join our team as a Grant Writer. The individual selected will identify, define, and develop funding sources to support existing and planned program activities as well as coordinate the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals to third-party entities. The position may potentially be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting data on the performance of program activities that are funded by third-party public and private sources.
The intern must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be proficient in research, interpreting, and analyzing diverse data and possess the ability to work collaboratively and independently to achieve stated goals.
Primary responsibilities include preparation of proposals and grant applications, work in researching, identifying, developing and responding to public and private grant opportunities.
Other responsibilities:
• Research and identify new government and private funding prospects
• Generate proposals and supporting documents
• Maintain and implement funding calendar activities
• Communicate with funding organizations and agencies
• Identify funding opportunities and new program areas to match institutional priorities, using research tools
• Special projects related to fundraising as needed

The Foundation for the Preservation of the American Family (FPAF) is committed to increasing access to information and resources for families addressing problems that undermine their survival. Through our website we provide research, information and a venue for families to document success stories. The FPAF facilitates strategy sharing, collaboration and the navigation of agencies and resources, establishing a vital community where families can help themselves and each other.
We envision the FPAF reaching every family in need of information, access to services, and a desire to communicate with one another nationwide and beyond. In addition, we hope that the existence of the FPAF will provide a critical resource for other agencies and organizations seeking to locate answers to difficult questions facing families.
The FPAF is looking for interns who are interested in helping American families and communities. All interns should be well organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently. All positions report to the Executive Director.
