The goal of the community outreach for the FPAF is to raise community awareness of the organization and its main project, the website that contains a list of free help resources. This position involves working with individuals, families, schools, churches, retirement centers and other community institutions to promote website capabilities and benefits and explain how to use it to find free help within particular area, to find volunteers and increase individual donations, to engage in partnerships with other nonprofit organizations and government agencies. The community outreach organizer must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to take initiative and work independently, be well-organized and creative. Responsibilities: o Identify, contact and reach out to institutions, businesses, churches, community organizations with the goal of informing them about our organization and the website, and increasing individual and community donations. o Identify, contact and reach out to institutions, businesses, churches, community organizations with the goal of finding volunteers o Organize and oversee volunteers o Organize and facilitate all aspects of the outreach effort including one on one contacts, community meetings, and other community oriented efforts; utilize the community in participating in data mining, fundraising and other volunteer activities o Develop weekly work plan o Document outreach efforts

Description: The Foundation for the Preservation of the American Family (FPAF) is committed to increasing access to information and resources for families addressing problems that undermine their survival. Through our website we provide research, information and a venue for families to document success stories. The FPAF facilitates strategy sharing, collaboration and the navigation of agencies and resources, establishing a vital community where families can help themselves and each other. We envision the FPAF reaching every family in need of information, access to services, and a desire to communicate with one another nationwide and beyond. In addition, we hope that the existence of the FPAF will provide a critical resource for other agencies and organizations seeking to locate answers to difficult questions facing families. The FPAF is looking for interns who are interested in helping American families and communities. All interns should be well organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
